sweet beginnings and bitter endings

i am typing this from my moms phone. it's a little weird.
just thought you guys would likr to know that so far we have made it past the point where we broke down. yay! and i have had coffee, so no worries there.
i'm working on a huge cumalative post to commemorate this vacation, which i have absolutely no desire to type on a phone. i'm sad because i can't find a colon on this phone so i can't make a smilie face. i can make a wink face though! ;) no noses on this keyboard either, but thats okay. smilie faces don't necessarily HAVE to have noses, you know.
anyway, we're driving through eastern washington right now, and it's so inspiring! i think we should all move out here and start our own ranch. whoes with me?

  1. That would be great! A moose ranch. Can you imagine a bunch of little Pastor H's running around?? That would be AWESOME!! Though he is still the one of a kind.

I agree about the whole cow thing.

  2. "Moose!!!"

Not really sure about that. I have tasted elk and moose and they both have a flavor not really similar to beef or chicken. It's more... hard to explain really. I think it is actually closer to pork than anything else.

  3. Not a word was mentioned about killing the moose!!! That would just be wrong. . .

  4. I would vote Alaska. Think about it, the moose run wild up here! It would be a natural place to have a ranch for them. I hear moose clothing is quite cozy. . . (at least I heard that in my mind ;-)

I didn't say it tasted "like" pork. If we had to compare it to those three most familiar meats, the taste of moose would be closer to pork than beef or chicken.

  5. And yes, we can sell Moose hair. Perfect! I'm sure there's an enormous market for it... somewhere...

  6. Moving to Alaska would be fun... except that I would probably freeze solid upon arival and it's hard to have fun in that state of chemical matter, I've found.

  7. Eastern Washington? Ok time for a pit stop in Clarkston!! ;-) haha. Though there is that rather obnoxious fact that Clarkston is never on the way to anywhere. Ah well... XD how about a nice little long-cut?

  8. okay, no, totally try Yuray Colorado, you guys. I was just their and it is completely gorgeous. They call it "A little piece of switzerland" and it is totally how I imagine switzerland.

It has that small town feel and is totally old-fashioned and adorable . . . I think it has a population of about 800.

  9. Oooh, mmm, yes- that sounds perfect, except do they have miles upon miles of free open fields to run and ride horses and drive on?

I thought not. So Montana it is.

:-P Just kidding. That does sound pretty neat, actually.

  10. Ahh, most unfortunate. Lol, kind of like when I was in you guys's area wanting to see y'all and my parents thought it was a little too out of the way (well and we were pretty booked with stuff so I guess we'd not really have had time unless we stayed an extra day too...)

  11. yeah, on our way down here to Colorado we went through Idaho, and I was like . . . . "Lets go see Sarah and everyone else up their in Clarkston." Except we were WAY south, so that wasn't gonna really happen.
