I have been LOVING life.
It has something to do with working as hard as I did the last two weeks and having pretty much nothing on my plate this week... I've never apreciated sleeping in and sitting around doing nothing so much.
Things I've been enjoying:
-this beautiful rain
-boots, scarves, and sweaters
-hot drinks
-sleep
-cooking
-working out
-movies
-coloring and overall being artistic
Of course, this isn't all there is to life, and it's not like I really deserve a break yet. But I do think I tend to take the quiet times forgranted in my perpetual rush for significance and the next big thing. After all, heaven won't have all these dramatic ups and downs, ins and outs, will it? I look forward to the time when work and recreation will all be simple and straightforward, not tied up in alterior motives and concerns.
THIS JUST IN: There is a whole zuccini in my purse that I forgot to eat earlier. Jooooooooooy!
Wait let me clean out my ears so that I'm sure of what you're saying: A zuccini? In your purse?Um. Why?
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you. The big things can be so oppressive, but the little things are most glorious!
Yep! I'd cut it up and brought it to Starbucks with me so I could eat a healthy snack, but when I got there I forgot to eat it until a couple hours later. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou just eat zucchini? You do realize, that you are now in my book of officially weird people .. . .
ReplyDeleteHmm, there is nothing like being busy to make you appreciate having nothing to do.
Oh, and I am totally with you. I love this rain!!! I've heard that this year is supposed to be the worst (as in snowy) winter we have had since the 50's. Which of course means we probably won't get any snow, but still, it's fun to think about. I hope we get tons of cozy hot chocolate weather!!!!
Oh Emily.....I'm not sure there is any hope for you. You and your zucchini-eating habits.
ReplyDeleteBut you've reminded me, I have a nearly full can of pumpkin in the fridge that needs to get used. Now you've got my brain working. :P
Oh, I completely agree! I've been so insanely busy with work and school lately that when I get a day with no school or no work it feels like heaven. I think it makes you appreciate the rest, but also the hard work. maybe.
Yes Katie, I've heard that about this winter too! Personally I think it has been colder than usual for this time of year. But that could just be me - I am freezing all the time. But I'm hoping for tons of snow too!
ok, so funny story about Zucchini. The other day, MJ wanted to eat a cucumber, so she grabbed one, and was headed out the door, on the way to dance. Elaina told her it was a Zucchini. A few minuets later, she learned it was a Zucchini. Apparently MJ eats Zucchini as well!
ReplyDeleteI hope, HOPE we get tons of snow.
Wait... I started the pumpkin cooking spee? I'm honored, Kacy! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd that's funny Katie. I really don't think eating zucchini is that unusual... I mean, it IS a food, after all!
